Morrissey Engineering provided mechanical, electrical, daylighting analysis, and technology design services for the new Papillion Community Center, Field House, and Outdoor Sports Complex. Envisioned as a central hub for recreation, wellness, and community life, the facility brings together many amenities in one vibrant destination.

Features

The 117,000-square-foot Community Center was designed to serve residents of all ages and interests. It includes a meeting and banquet hall with a catering kitchen, a youth drop-in facility, and a senior center, along with flexible spaces for arts programs, a satellite library, and community partnerships. The building also features an indoor aquatics center, a multi-court and community gymnasium with a stage, and an elevated walking track that overlooks the activity below. A modern exercise facility provides locker rooms, cardio and weight training areas, classrooms, and a golf assessment lab to support various fitness and wellness goals.

Adjacent to the Community Center, the 101,000-square-foot Field House offers year-round athletics and training opportunities. The centerpiece is a full-size indoor turf field, complemented by two batting cages, a baseball/softball practice infield, and a mezzanine level with spectator seating and concessions.

Outdoors, the complex expands into championship-level athletic fields designed to host various sports and events. Highlights include a turf soccer field and plaza, lacrosse and baseball/softball fields, and recreational amenities such as a disc golf course.

Completed in 2020, the Papillion Community Center and Field House represent a significant investment in community health, recreation, and connection. Morrissey Engineering's integrated design approach ensured that the facilities meet the community's diverse needs today and operate efficiently and sustainably for years to come.
