LinkedIn Solar Installation
LinkedIn's Midwest corporate headquarters campus in Omaha, Nebraska, installed a carport solar array system in its parking lot, one of the largest in the state. Morrissey Engineering provided electrical services on this project. LinkedIn expects the solar investment to lower operational carbon emissions by an estimated 400 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent.

Features
- Seven carport arrays topped with 400kW - 600kW of photovoltaic (PV) panels
- The system is grid-interactive and to be used to offset electricity purchased from electric utility
- Targeted to provide 3 LEED credits by serving no less than 10% of building energy
- Estimated to produce around 10% of the annual energy consumption and save $60,000 per year
- For comparison, the installed solar power provides enough power for 97.5 homes or to offset the CO2 from 60,378 gallons of burned gasoline
