7x24 Exchange Data Center Conference - Day 2
Day 2 included a presentation by Google on breaking the barrier of their current PUE. They have developed a machine model that looks at 19 factors that can affect data center operation and efficiency and provides operators with suggestions on configurations that will provide the lowest energy use and PUE. The software is similar to their Google car and speech recognition software that is able to learn and become more accurate over time. Though the technology is not presently commercially available, it speaks to the need for accurate sensors and data gathering in data center environments.
