Men will be able to enjoy cocktails and billiards before sitting down for a straight-razor shave or haircut at Scissors & Scotch, a salon and spa expected to open in January at Shops of Legacy in west Omaha.
The business, owned by Tanner Wiles and two partners, will take up about 2,800 square feet in two bays in a new building in the final stages of construction at the shopping center southwest of 168th Street and West Center Road.
The salon also will offer hair coloring, manicures and pedicures (which it calls “hand repairs” and “foot repairs”), massage, waxing, and beard and mustache trims. A groom will be able to bring his wedding party in to get cleaned up in advance of his big day.
Wiles, originally from Gordon, Nebraska, is also an owner of the Spring City Amusement Center set to open in the former Hy-Vee near Oak View Mall. He said men in business want to look their best to impress clients and keep up with younger competitors.
Women know how to make a visit to the salon into something more than an errand, he added.
“It’s finally time that men follow in their footsteps and start seeing it more as a luxury, as well as a necessity,” he said.
